What you’ll do on a typical day:
Import bookings with international/national agents; sea freight carriers and airlines Investigating, quoting & planning the most appropriate route for a shipment considering the nature of goods, cost, transit time and security Obtaining & checking documentation to meet customs, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries’ regulations. Obtaining information to compete customs declarations in the UK Utilise internet technology to support customer tracking of goods whilst maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey
Previous experience and working knowledge of Import operations and main transport methods Proven problem solver, with a keen eye for detail and respect for confidentiality Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both a written and verbal capacity
