Job/Position: Associate Director, Centralized Ancillary Supply

REMOTE OPPORTUNITY

Department: Global Clinical Supply Chain (GCSC)

Location: REMOTE

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:

• Under the direction of the Director of Centralized Ancillary Supply, the Associate Director, Ancillary Supplies for providing leadership and direction to facilitate the planning and execution of ancillary supplies in support of Takeda R&D Global Clinical Trials and other supportive research or development needs and to ensure that all project objectives are met in a timely and compliant manner.
• Works with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to support development and execution of supply strategies that facilitate the delivery of ancillary supplies to support program and study needs including sourcing strategy and inventory management. Will also provide support to GCSC operations team, who manages the kit assembly, packaging & labeling, and distribution of ancillary supplies to clinical sites.
• Leads Ancillary Supply group initiatives including the development and execution of the Takeda ancillary supply strategy as well as other key vendor management and relationship projects.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assesses existing ancillary framework including existing suppliers and identifies potential gaps/ opportunities
• Seek out stakeholder feedback (TAU’s/GPT’s, Clin Ops, Procurement, Regulatory, etc.) to identify and implement solutions to ancillary needs and ensure a robust supply chain, including leveraging potential new strategies as needed.
• Lead creation of global / regional sourcing strategies for key items to ensure ancillaries can be successfully procured and distributed in multiple regions
• Support identification and development of global / regional suppliers of medical devices, consumables and other related items to support the clinical research portfolio.
• Oversee and support process for providing specifications to vendors and ensuring they are current and up to date. Notify vendors when changes to specifications occur and follow process to manage/track.
• Collaborates with QA and Procurement in the evaluation, qualification of ancillary vendors as well as supporting development and review of contracts.
• Create global / regional sourcing strategies for key items to ensure ancillaries can be successfully procured and distributed in multiple regions.
• Be a champion of the Ancillary Supply Chain function and socialize this role as an organization value add.
• Act as central point of contact for issues related to ancillary supplies.
• Support and oversee ancillary quoting activities and related P2P functions including quote processing in Ariba.
• Create and/or maintain SOPs and support metrics collection and analysis as required.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• 8-12 years of experience in purchasing, supplier sourcing, project management, healthcare, clinical supply chain and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of cGMP requirements
• Proficiency in computer software applicable to procure to pay (Ariba), IRT, Excel and MS Project or equivalent project management software is a plus.
• Familiarly with ancillary supplies (syringes, needles, filters, empty vials, tubing, saline and related medical devices).
• ASCM (formerly APICS) and/ or ISM certification a plus.
• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Pharmacy, other scientific/technical degree, or significant job related experience.

Base Salary Range: $143,500-$205,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
