iF International Forum Design GmbH, based in Hanover, Germany, is one of the world’s leading independent design institutions. We have been organizing the iF DESIGN AWARD since 1954. With more than 10,000 entries from 70 countries each year, it is one of the largest and most prestigious design awards in the world. We have offices in Korea, Brazil, China, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey.

In order to grow strategically in the USA and to open a North/East-coast based iF subsidiary, we are seeking a goal-oriented US-based country director with business and profit responsibility. In this role, your responsibilities will include leading the iF subsidiary, forecasting sales needs, oversee campaign budgets, and work together with existing and potential participants for the iF Design Award.

To be successful as a Director iF Design USA, you should network with local participants in the iF Design Award to increase sales, oversee the US marketing budget and strengthen the company’s brand awareness and relevance in the USA. The Director for iF Design USA will be the leading representative for iF Design US-based customers, will recognize needs of customers in different geographic regions for iF Design and will adjust marketing activities accordingly.

Director Responsibilities:

• Identify targeted marketing and sales goals and objectives specific to the US market.
• Develop a clear understanding of the financial goals in the USA and key success indicators.
• Strengthen and develop the USA as one of the strategic countries for iF Design in the future
• Recommend strategies to implement marketing and sales plans for the USA.
• Analyze local competition to strengthen the company’s brand position in assigned regional US areas.
• Build relationships through systematic networking with existing and new participants for the iF Design Award.
• Interface with German HQ about company, goals, and marketing assets.
• Provide service to US participants

Director Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
• Master’s degree may be advantageous.
• Fundamental understanding of Design, Design Trends, and the Design Community.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in business networking and strong relationships with US based companies, marketing agencies and designers.
• Excellent organization and outstanding communication skills.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and networking skills.
• Good time-management skills.
• Authorized (Permission) to work in the USA
