Hutan develops adventure-based learning and literacy programs for children 2-7 years of age that address sedentary behavior, educational disparities, and developmental delays in early childhood. To accomplish this, we engage with schools, businesses, like organizations and individuals to promote children’s overall wellbeing in Washtenaw County, across the state of Michigan, and around the world.
GOALS AND PURPOSE: Engaging schools with the website and program
The Community Engagement Specialist will coordinate outreach to the general public, with a focus on preschools, primary education, all levels of school personnel, and parents of children 2-7 years of age in Ypsilanti and surrounding areas to raise awareness about our adventure-based learning program Bob-a-loo. Other projects will include marketing and outreach for district activities and working with partner organizations to coordinate events and increase funding.
YOUR ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hutan is looking for a Community Engagement Specialist in Ypsilanti, MI, and surrounding areas to join our group and play a vital role in bringing Bob-a-loo, our innovative adventure-based learning program to schools and parents across the state. The successful candidate will exhibit confidence and empathy, establish trust with the community, and skillfully switch between group and one-on-one interactions. They will utilize any means necessary to connect and engage with the community, including in-person group events, one-one school visits, and telephone or virtual outreach.
